International Physicians - USA Licensing without the ECFMG
There are only 2 States which will allow an International Physician to license in the USA without an ECFMG Certificate. They are as follows:
California Medical Board
West Virginia Medical Board
All Physicians must have taken an approved examination in order to license. (i.e. USMLE, NBME, FLEX, LMCC, NBOME)

THIS IS UNTRUE. I do not have an ecfmg certificate. I have bee continuously licensed in Colorado sin January 8, 1981. I have active licenses also in California and Nevada and have expired licenses in Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, West Virginia, and Wyoming. I have recently applied for an Idaho license and they do not require an ecfmg certificate. I am board certified in two specialties who are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties

This information is based on the AMA's data. Medical Board's can waive their requirements if they decide it is warranted. This is especially true in the case of eminence or extra-ordinary credentials.
I would be interested to know which examination you took? I bet you are Fifth Pathway from Mexico? If so this replaces the ECFMG Certificate. Please reply.
